THE DESTINY CENTER

The Destiny Center, a multifaceted facility, will be used to house outreach ministries which will provide services to men, women and children. Our desire is to minister to the spirit, soul and body. It is our belief that healthy families create healthy communities. Services offered at the facility will cater to the needs of each family member.

The center's vision is aligned with the adage, "People don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." In order to gain people's attention, we must provide services that will benefit them. An array of services and opportunities have been comprised based on the needs of the community. They will address the 'total' state of all who walk through the doors of The Destiny Center. Volunteer staff, ministers and leaders will foster an atmosphere which will encourage individuals to seek their purpose. Once they understand their purpose and destiny, they can create a plan to accomplish goals which correlate with their purpose.

The goal of The Destiny Center is to be the vehicle that encourages people to pursue success by identifying their purpose then ultimately living their dreams. The King's Banquet Hall The King's Banquet Hall is designed to provide hot, nutritious meals at least four times weekly. Provide grocery and other nonperishable items to families in need

Center for Homeless Temporary housing for adults and children - residents must enroll in educational, vocational, or other motivational programs offered at Destiny Center that will allow them to become a vital, self-sufficient part of the community. The homeless center is not a long-term solution, rather a tool to re-establish oneself in society.

24 Hour Crisis Helpline One-on-one counseling by trained counselors; all information is strictly confidential

Educational Programs
Technical/Educational Support Computer training and tutoring offered to students and general public

Job Placement/ Life Skills Adults will learn vocational and occupational skills to become vital members of the labor force. Entrepreneurial training and development including mentorship with private, local business owners

Financial Empowerment Participants will learn to make informed decisions regarding finances. Focus includes: Debt Elimination & Settlement Tax & Financial Planning Wealth Building Credit Enhancement Youth & Recreation Youth Zone Safe alternative 'hang-out' for youths to socialize, complete home-work, showcases talents, etc. Zone will include game room, performance space and quiet studying areas

Tutoring Tutoring will be offered to students who are currently enrolled in elementary, middle or high schools in Dekalb County and other surrounding counties.

Computer Literacy Classes Computer classes will be offered to school age students and those that are seeking to gain more knowledge or get training on various computer programs. (ie. Word, Excel)

Self-Awareness Classes Self-awareness classes geared at young men and women between ages of 12-19 that deal with subjects relevant to this population (ie. Education importance, teen pregnancy, STDs, crime prevention)

Recreational Facility This facility will house a health and fitness center complete with: baseball, basketball volleyball and football spaces, workout/ weight room, etc; the facility will be available for team sporting events, and community leagues and outreach

Mentoring Program Mentoring programs will be available for all children who are in need of additional motivation from a mentor who is capable of reaching the individual child at the point of their need. This program will particularly benefit those from single parent homes. They will provide one-on-one mentoring for the participants of this program.

High School Scholarship Program
All graduating high school seniors who meet the set requirements will be eligible for college scholarship sponsored by the Destiny Center.
